Southwest Corridor Project Director

TriMet

Director of the Southwest Corridor Project, a proposed twelve mile, $3b extension of TriMet’s MAX light rail system from Portland to Tigard and Tualatin. Responsible for all design contracts, project staffing, and budgets.  Managed a multi-discipline team of Project Managers to implement project in Planning, Environmental, and Project Development phases. Evaluated costs and benefits of project issues, developed recommendations and presentations to Steering Committee and TriMet Board. Developed and maintained relationships and agreements with partner agencies, third parties, and community stakeholders. Reported to Executive Director, Engineering and Construction Division.

Oct 2009 – Sept 2015

Portland-Milwaukie Light Rail Transit, East Segment Director

Trimet

Responsible for all design and construction contracts for East Segment of the Project, over 5 miles and 8 new stations. Managed staff responsible for administration of contracts and technical task order management. Responsible for internal and external communications regarding project issues, and coordination with jurisdictions and other third parties. Developed technical and strategic efforts resulting in a Purchase and Sale Agreement with UPRR.  Monitored and reported cost and schedule status, change control and claims administration. Lead role in negotiations and dispute resolution with consultants and contractors. Reported to Executive Director, Capital Project and Facilities Division.
